And the winner is....

And the winner is...

Arsehole B:

So, my wifes family new this guy when they were all at the Australian Embassy in Beijing.

According to them, Arsehole B is the nicest terminology they would use for him.

Well one way or another this will change Australia, but Australia is changing anyway so how they will effect that change is just something we will just have to sit back and watch.

Election Schmelection

So I have to go choose who is going to run my country.

My choices are Arsehole A or Arsehole B

Why is it politics always seem to come down to the personalities of the leader rather than the policies of the party. And why is it that a government who has been in 'power' for so long come out with all these policies now, and offer tax cuts and better schools and hospitals ONLY if they get reelected. You know who I'd like to vote for? The party that has been in power for X amount of years and instead of making a shitload of promises to try and buy votes, or trying outspend the other party who is trying to buy their way in, just come out and say - this is what we've been doing, this is where all these projects are at that we've been working on over the years and this is how they'll progress when we get back into power. We're not going to make any rash promises - we're just going to keep on doing well that which we have been doing all along.

If you've been governing well then that should be enough to get you back in - simple as that. If you've been doing a crap job - then we'll vote your overpaid arses outta there.

Politics - It's really fucking simple made complex by egotistical arseholes who would rather be in a pissing contest than try to look after the country.

18 words

I decided that todays blog will be eighteen words long only, no more, no less - just eighteen words.

Why is this album not a classic?

Amused to Death
Roger Waters

14 years since its release it is still up there with my fave albums of all time. Possibly, in my opinion, Roger's most complete work.

The duet with Don Henley on Watching TV is great. Miracle is incredible.

What makes this album a stand out is Rogers brilliant critical look at the human beast.

You can't just listen to this once or twice and make a judgement on it. Spend some time, listen, savour, learn it. Only then will you appreciate the accomplishment that is this album.

My end of the deal

My end of the deal

OK so I made this agreement see, with Enzo - The Baker
Keep up my side of the blog - or lose function of my kneecaps.
No one disappoints The Baker
So here is tonights feeble Blog

I once went to book into a hotel and the receptionist asked for an impression of my credit card. I told her I don't do impressions - she just stood blankly staring at me. I hate it when great one liners are wasted like that.

I once fell asleep in a piece of pizza on Hollywood Boulevard

I just typed in all the above and when I went to post it, the text all dissapeared. I hate that too so I finish this blog a little short as I figure I have written twice as much as there is to read and that's enough.

Reflecting on Death

The last minutes of any day can produce the best light for a photographer but it also adds a degree of pressure. You know with each passing second the light is dying and if you want to get a shot it is now or never.
So you run around frantically, as I was doing tonight in a dusty old graveyard in a feild in the middle of nowhere.
All my shots were below medicore except for this one. Out of the corner of my eye I caught the reflection of the setting sun on this tombstone.
So I thank you William Robinson for showing me this.

You can't eat a Robot Chicken

Todays Gizmodo shows a new product from Sega - A Robot Chicken!

We live in a world where 50% of the people live in abject poverty and are lucky if they can eat every day and yet Sega can not produce enough Robot Chickens to supply demand.

Kind of makes you wonder doesn't it. In the words of Newman from Seinfeld "Oh the humanity!"

Todays pic is of a homeless man and a young skateboarder. The man, either passing time or still genuinely interested in a world he doesn't participate in, sits reading a newspaper while young kids skate around him.

What startles me about this picture, and something I didn't see until it was pointed out to me on Flickr, was the similarity of pose between the two main subjects.
A life of future promise vs a life that has lost it's hope.

The First Never Read

So I read an article today on blogging and saw that 55% of the 70 million blogs have not been updated in the last 3 months.

The article also referred to a series of articles in News Limited papers that stated that blogging was in decline and that more people were turning to MySpace rather than Blog. They also pointed out that the News Limited article failed to mention that News Limited OWNS MySpace.

I thought I'd do my bit for the Blog community and post my own blog.

It seems a pointless exercise as I know I will probably not keep it up and I cannot fathom how anyone will find it let alone be bothered to read the rantings of a middle aged egotist.

I guess I'll post some pics up here as I take a lot of photos and, while I post on Flickr, I tend not to get into any analysis of the images I have posted on there so here may be an opportunity for me to maybe learn a bit about why I like a particular image.

So I post this First Never To Be Read blog to my oh so wittily titled blog and watch in rapt wonder as it sits out there in cyberspace unloved and unread.

Peace, Love and Mungbeans
